FILE - In this file photo taken March 23, 2010, Dallas Mavericks guard Rodrigue Beaubois (3) of Guadeloupe goes to the basket during an NBA basketball game against the Los Angeles Clippers in Dallas. The secret ingredient to Dirk Nowitzki , Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks winning their first NBA title could be Beaubois, the second-year guard whose surgically repaired left foot has been in a walking boot most of the last two months.

Before leaving for the airport Monday and catching the flight to Boston, Dwyane Wade had a conversation with the friend he calls Larry. As in, the Larry O'Brien Trophy. The one they give out for winning an NBA championship. "I asked him where he's been," Wade said. "He's eluded me.

October 25, 2010 at 4:35 PM

The World Series umpiring crew will have a couple of first-timers -- unlike last year. Umpires Sam Holbrook and Bill Miller will make their World Series debuts Wednesday night in Game 1 between Texas and San...

The Yankees started a busy offseason Monday, but not with new contracts for manager Joe Girardi or aging icons Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera. Those marquee moves should happen soon enough.
